New webpage password won’t update in Passwords.

In the Passwords, I noticed a security warning for a password for a sign-in for a shopping webpage. The warning said the password is compromised. I signed into the account and changed the password with two-factor-authentication. It worked. I went back to Passwords & the security warning did not change, showing the same old password. I checked the Passwords on the Mac & iPhone, both having the same issue. Why would Passwords not update to the new password and remove the security warning?

On some websites, updating the password is not updating the Passwords app. A bug in the Passwords app, probably, or because the website that is not communicating the proper information back.

The best solution is to update the password on the website directly (without going through the Passwords app), make a copy of the new password and update the Passwords app accordingly.
