pages to epub TOC is showing deleted chapters

I'm working on an ebook. I revised it and deleted some chapters. When I export it to EPUB, the deleted chapters still appear in the TOC. The text is 127 pages, but the TOC is showing 143 pages. I've deleted old files and tried to re-export to epub, but the error persists.
