Sharing contacts between family plan iPhones without adding accounts

I would like to share my contacts list with my spouse. We often call the same people. We are on a family plan. I tried to add both accounts to both phones, but that caused other problems such as changing My Card to the other. When I try to change it back to me on my phone, it then changes it to me on her phone and vice versa. It also added her mail account, which I don't care to see. Not that it is any big secret, but then I get alerts when she gets mail, and she gets alerts when I get mail. There are other issues with other things that are added when we sign into to each others accounts. Is there anyway to just share contacts? I had it set up on an older iOS where I could sign in and only share contacts, but that seems to have gone away. Thanks.
