Thanks, I am aware of that. I’m just concerned that the technician replacing the battery will see personal information so would rather loose it on the iPad when battery is replaced, then use back up to put it back on iPad, once I get it back. I can’t open it due to dead battery so I can’t delete personal info.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear in my question.
Apple doesn't replace the batteries on iPads; they send you a refurbished one. So, unless you have the data backed up, it's gone. And without the password, no one is getting any information off of the dead iPad even if it later turns on.

anything synced to icloud would still be there
and if you backup to icloud a backup of the ipad would be there
if you backup to a computer then a full backup of the ipad would be located on that
Thanks, I have personal info on a couple of apps and afraid that the technician replacing the battery will use it or get into my emails. I would rather loose it when battery replaced on iPad and put it back on from backup. I can’t even turn the iPad on now to delete personal info and email ap.

If you have a backup no, you can put that back on your new iPad and everything is how you had it
