Apple Mail Folder Problem

I created a folder for certain emails from people to go into. Originally, I wrote rules for these emails to go into the folder, on iCloud.com. Now I want to stop using this folder and get these emails to go directly into the Inbox. So I have deleted the rules and deleted the folder. But when the emails still arrive the folder re-created and in they go! I have tried to write another rule so these emails go into the inbox but the rules does not allow me to select the inbox as the "folder" for them to go into. I've also tried moving them to the inbox to try to train the mail system but this doesn't work. This happens on my IoS devices and Mac. Any ideas?

It seems like the issue might be that the old rules are still active or cached on iCloud. Try deleting all the rules on iCloud.com and sync your devices. You might also need to restart your devices for the changes to take effect. If that doesn't help, you could try removing and re-adding your iCloud account on your devices.
