MacBook boots up into recovery mode

Hi! I turned my MacBook on one day and it immediately booted up into recovery mode. After a few hours of talking to apple support we thought that the power button was stuck. I have tried to clean it out but it doesn’t seem to be stuck. If I shut down the MacBook it turns back on and says keep holding for startup options. I’m not really sure what to do
