My wife and I used to share an Apple ID, but our “My Card” info in contacts kept getting switched. I tried to solve this by creating a new AppleID for me, but it still keeps happening. We are sharing a Family account.

Stop Sharing the Contacts:
To stop sharing contacts in iCloud, go to Settings, tap your name, select iCloud, and then toggle off the Contacts option. This will prevent your contacts from syncing with iCloud and being shared across your devices.

Stop. You each need your own. There is no such thing as a "family account". That's not how family sharing works.
To clarify, I created and use my own Apple ID/account to try to solve this issue. It did not solve it. We are participating in family sharing for subscriptions, etc.
