Badge count stopped working after upgrading to iOS 18.6

My mail badges that show if I have a new email for apps like Gmail and Yahoo mail no longer show an accurate count. For example, both apps will show no badge number, but when I click on the app I’ll see that I have 17 unread emails. When I leave the app, then the badge will show 17, but it stays at 17 even though more unread emails have come into my inbox. I’ve made sure all badge notifications are turned on and Focus is turned off. This wasn’t an issue until I updated to iOS 18.6. I have an iPhone 13.
