Mail app freezing and displaying incorrect emails on iPhone

I sometimes find I will click on Mail, make some changes, such as filing an email, which then do not take effect. I then have to click on the window bar to bring the app to the front and do it all again. Also mail can sometimes show a particular short summary in the list, then clicking to open it up brings up a different email?? Anyone else having these sorts of issues. It has been consistent through Sequoia and the previous OS.
