Shortcut Cannot Parse a Note

I have a shortcut that reads a note and looks for today's date. If today's date is there, it gives me one notification to say "don't take pills". If it doesn't have today's date, it says "take pills". Very straight forward.

It doesn't work. In fact it's temperamental as it changes from day to day.

Is Shortcuts half baked? There's no reason why it should change and the logic is there.

I've posted it so anybody can look. Any insight appreciated.
