Group conversations: How to see what number I'm texting from

In a group conversation when you tap to see who is all in it, you can see all other contacts' info except yourself and in this you cannot see what contact info you're using in that conversation.

This is what I mean:

On my iphone I have it set to allow messages from my email address but any new messages I start will be from my phone number. I was added to a 3-person group conversation and only when I saw one of those other people's devices did I see that I was participating through my email address (someone added me via email). Nowhere on my phone in that group conversation detail could I tell that it was using my email and not my phone number.

Is there a way to see this info that I'm not aware of?
