Enabling App Store downloads for non-profit Apple Business MDM devices

Dear Community,

I would like to solve a big problem:

A non-profit company is in the process of purchasing several new Apple devices, including two MacMinis and several iPhones. We already have access to Apple Business for the administrative management of these devices, as the two MacMinis have already arrived and we have started using them.

For their installation, we would like to ensure that applications successfully added in Apple Business Manager via the Apps and Books menu can be downloaded to the MacMinis via the App Store. Unfortunately, the download button is currently inactive, and we would like to enable it.

The question primarily seeks to find out what discounts are available specifically for non-profit companies and, if necessary, where we could find a solution if there is no free solution.

Managed Apple IDs are unable to purchase from the App Store. You need to purchase through the volume portal within Apple Business Manager and then either send download codes (not recommended) or deploy via Mobile Device Management (MDM).

There are typically not discounts on apps for non-profits unless you negotiate something directly with the developer.

Thanks for the answer. “either send download codes (not recommended)”. How it is work and why its not recommended? I was exactly interested in getting Mdm system/software not the apps with Nonprofit discounts. The most of the apps what we need is just officially free.
