iPhone calendar missing my appointments before May

Updated to 18.6 a few days ago and today I'm scheduling an appointment on calendar. All my scheduled items before May 2025 that show as expected on my desktop are completely missing from my iPhone calendar. That never was the situation before the 18.6 update (or maybe it was the 18.5 update and I did not notice?). All the holidays show, etc, just the events that I input are missing.

The calendar used is my Home (green). By looking up a previous appointment, I am able to input enough to bring up the info and reset the time for the new date. This is likely a bug, but maybe there is a solution? My desktop MacStudio is at 15.6, the latest, so it's a iPhone unique issue. This was not a problem before the update.

All remains on my desktop calendar and so I am able to reschedule on the desktop calendar and now it shows on my iPhone calendar. So the loss is only on the iPhone calendar.

Found the solution:

go to settings, apps, calendar

check sync setting,

somehow mine changed to 3 months at likely the 8.5 update, which hid previous events, but can be set for as recent as two weeks. The recent 8.6.x did not fix and after further exploring discovered the sync choices. For me I set at all events. Wish there was a 18 month setting.
