Numeric keys not working in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge during RDP on iPad using Windows app mobile
Hello,
I have a Intel NUC running Windows, and I’m using the Windows app mobile on my iPad Pro to control it remotely with RDP.
Everything works great:
- Connection speed is very good
- Audio streams perfectly
- General typing works fine even combinations of keys ctrl + c, etc.
However, I have one strange problem:
I’m using an Apple Magic Keyboard with the iPad, and in the remote session the numeric keys 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, '.' and ',' do not work ONLY in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- In Notepad, Word, or any other app, the keys work 100% perfectly.
- Even the on‑screen RDP keyboard and numeric keypad don’t work in Chrome/Edge.
- I also tried disconnecting the Magic Keyboard and using the on‑screen iPad keyboard only — same problem.
- Keyboard layout is US QWERTY on iPad and ENG US on Windows.
I removed the Apple Magic Keyboard totally to try and i see if this is the problem and not, even the iPad itself with the on screen problem present the same problem in Google Chrome or Edge
If I use Jump Desktop (RDP), everything works perfectly, so this seems to be specific to the Microsoft RDP app.
Does anyone know why Chrome and Edge block these keys in RDP and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for any tips!
