iPad deleting text messages from specific contacts

My iPad has deleted all text messages from 2 of my contacts and only these 2. One is prior to June 30, and other July 3. I do not use iCloud and my iPad is updated. I have forever as my setting for saving messages. I even asked Grok and did everything they suggested but nothing. Can they be retrieved or even not deleted from now on?
