Hi I've just installed a new modem wifi, mac has recognised it but not wireless mouse so back on wired mouse but I need some advice on how to find a browser in non-tech language please. I tried to download firefox but I can't tell if it worked its not in the browser choice box in General all that's there is safari with no other options.

Current versions of most third-party browsers will not run on High Sierra. It is too old.

The older Firefox "extended support release" that Mr. Haveri mentioned will run on High Sierra. It has not received any new features in a long time, and it is about to stop receiving even "critical security updates". But it may be the best choice available for High Sierra.

Mozilla Support – Firefox users on macOS 10.12, 10.13 and 10.14 moving to Extended Support Release

"Mozilla will provide security updates for Firefox 115 ESR until at least August 2025, when the position will be re-evaluated."
