My iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.2 does not want to connect to app store. I would like to download spotify, but I can’t because of this problem. The problem occurs the second the app store is opened. What are the causes and solutions to this problem? Thank You!

You will not be able to download and use Spotify, even if you manage to open the App Store app. Spotify requires iOS 16.1 or greater. Your iPhone is only running iOS 7.1.2 and cannot update any higher. Your old phone does not have the necessary hardware.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Could you perhaps provide a screen shot? But either way, your iPhone 4 is not capable of running Spotify. Sorry.
I can't send a screenshot right now, but in the app store of older iOS (if working) has a purchases tab in the bottom of the screen where you can see all downloaded apps. Is the error possibly apple bricking the iOS 7 app store? For some reason iOS 9.3.5 app store is running fine, on my iPad Mini 1.
It sounds like your old iPhone 4 is approaching the end of its life. It is no longer supported by Apple so there is not much you can do about these problems. Please keep in mind that even if you get the App Store working, you will not be able to download most of the apps. They simply are not designed to work on your old phone.
