iPhone Mirroring iMessages Tapbacks Emoji Keyboard Missing
Hi all, more of a finding to share than a question.
On Sequoia 15.5 I'm finding that when using iPhone Mirroring and attempting a tapback reaction in Messages, if you select the greyed out smiley under the default and recently used tapbacks, the default tapbacks disappear yet no emoji keyboard appears to select a different emoji from.
This worked for me - exit the tapback window to get back to the default Messages window. Then use the "+" to the left of the compose "iMessage" field and select "Stickers". If the emoji select panel doesn't show & you don't see the smiley across the top of the sticker options, you can use shift+mouse scroll to move left or right to get to the emojis. You can also mouse scroll down to see all the emojis.
Then search and select the emoji you're looking for and once it appears in the compose window, select and slide the sticker/emoji window all the way down to get rid of it and get your cursor back into the compose window.
Select the emoji and copy it, then invoke the tapback and select the greyed out smiley once again and paste the emoji you just copied and voila, your tapback with your copied emoji appears.
EDIT: After writing this out, I tried doing the same thing as above except copying an emoji from my computer and pasting to the greyed out smiley on my phone and that worked as well.
BTW I know I can just use Messages on my Mac and not have to deal with iPhone Mirroring at all, however sometimes Messages on my Mac has had issues synching and isn't up to date or is missing some messages that are appearing on my phone, so at times I have to revert to Messages on my phone to see everything.
Anyway, hope this helps someone who has experienced this issue in the past and is looking for a solution.
