I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS version 18.5. I took photos accessing the camera from the locked screen and they disappeared. I believe this has happened a couple times before they have not shown up in the deleted folder or recently in deleted.

Do I understand correctly that you saw them in the Photos app, and then later they weren't there?
Or is it that you don't know if they ever made it to the Photos app. In that case, how do you know that the pictures were actually taken?
Photos taken with the screen locked are saved in the camera roll, but photos from previous captures will not be visible in subsequent photo sessions until the iPhone is unlocked.
This can be confusing, but it protects previously-captured photos from later being disclosed.
Once the iPhone is unlocked, all photos captured during all the screen-locked photo sessions will all be visible in the camera roll.
How can I recover disappearing photos taken when the iPhone screen is locked?
