CD playback via Music to BT device STILL NOT WORKING on Ventura (macOS13)?

Is this so?

I'm at 13.7.7. now.

Just wanting to playback the music cd, not import it.

FYI, giving permission for Music to access "external devices" trick does not work, since Music does not appear in that tab. Also, I can playback that cd when audio output is not behind BT connection.

Know issue?

Known solutions?

(Excluding changing the OS.)

STILL NOT WORKING

While you may experience this issue, it doesn’t seem to be a general issue with this macOS major release.

Please specify which bluetooth device this is about. Wireless headphones? Earbuds? Standalone active speaker? Other external audio equipment (receiver, amp, DAC, etc.)?

Which brand and model?

To connect new Bluetooth audio gear, set the bluetooth device to discovery mode (see its manual), and then find it listed in macOS System Settings﹥Bluetooth﹥Nearby Devices﹥…

There would appear a Connect button next to the device name, when hovering there with the mouse pointer.

Previously paired devices would be remembered, and be listed under My Devices.

For already paired devices that don’t work as they should, it may help to do ⓘ﹥Forget This Device, and then Connect and pair again from Nearby Devices.

You can verify the sound output to the Bluetooth device in: System Settings﹥Sound﹥Output & Input﹥Output﹥[select device]. Selecting anything here doesn’t change the pairing or connection, only where the Mac should send the audio to.

Well, the BT device shouldn't matter.

But this is Audio Pro T9.

The problem has been talked eg. there: External CD/DVD drive won't play - Apple Community

Music will play anything, through that speaker, if it's in its Library.

But not from external bd-player/dvd-burner.

If I change the output to eg. my monitor (TB connected) I hear the music instantly.

So, this is not about BT connection. Or audio settings.

Maybe Apple doesn't even know?

Hard to ask from old discussions, because they are locked. Which is stupid.

Funny thing that I can select audio output from my mini2018, to be my M1pro(Sonoma) and then from there I can choose that T9 as output.

And it works.

But the BT connection between the macs stutters a lot and then I can't share my kb & mouse to both macs.

So not a good solution.

Sad to see that these are not fixed.

I was thinking to upgrade mini2018 to newer OS, but decided to wait for macOS26.

Now I have think again.
