I have just installed Sonnox: Soften an audio plugin. When I start FCP it tells me it's failing the test as shown in. the image..
However, when I use auvatool to test it, it returns a pass. How do I get FCP to recognize it?

Not AU plugins work in FCP. Even it if works in Logic, it may fail in FCP. There's numerous AU units like this from iZotope and Native Instruments galore. Report it to the plugin maker and to Apple.
Just guessing, but maybe auvaltool is missing whatever FCP is unhappy about because it hasn't been updated since 2019? Does the Sonnox plugin work in Logic? What MacOS version are you running?
And from within FCP, using Final Cut Pro->Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback...
Yes, it works in Logic. I'm on Sequoia, 15.6 the latest update. The latest FCP and Logic.

Also, PS. I just installed au-lab in Homebrew, and ran it. It works with the Sonnox: Soften unit with no problems.
So it's just FCP that is falling over it.
