How to access iCloud Photos on iPhone 15 Pro?

I'm trying to copy some photos from my Windows 11 PC to my iPhone 15 Pro. I have them all in a folder on my PC. I open File Explorer and drag the folder (Copy) to iCloud Photos in the Navigation pane. The folder appears beneath iCloud Photos and I can open individual photos by double-clicking on them in File Explorer. When I open the Photos app on my iPhone, however, I can't locate the folder. I have iCloud Photos turned on in the iPhone's Settings.

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18

You've entered an alternate dimension in the Twilight Zone between the separate universes of Mac and Windows, a realm where experts are rare.

Can you tell us what you see at iCloud.com on your, browser? Did the pictures make it from your PC to iCloud? If so, then we need to investigate what's going on with the iPhone. If not, then it's a Windows problem.

I was kinda hoping it was a Windows thing. But, at least, you know that works.

Do the pictures appear in Utilities>Recently Saved on the phone?

Have you looked in Recently Deleted and in Hidden? Be sure to check your Library thoroughly-- the pictures may not be where you expect, as dates may have changed. You can use the search field with the date or location. And you can sort the Library by date captured or by date added. Also, your Library view now has filters, and you may not have your filter set to "All Items:"

Do you have “Optimize Storage” checked or Download Originals in Settings>[ID]>iCloud>Photos ?

Have you checked to see if the Apple Account is really really the same on the PC and on the iPhone?

Do you have more than 10% free storage on your iPhone?

One of those things might help. Let me know…

I don't have recently saved as an option:

Yes, they're not in there.

Aah, that was it. Searching on the date the pix were taken found them; now they're all in an easily located folder. Problem solved. Thanks!

The little arrow thing ( > ) next to Utilities >

means this is a "folder" and there is more to see. If you click on the arrow (or that general area) then Utilities will open and show you more choices. This sort of thing is all over Photos on the iPhone.

Albums are great for organizing things. Even better, all that's used is the name of the picture, so putting a picture in three albums doesn't take up any extra space. So the picture of "Aunt Ethel at the Grand Canyon" can be in the "Aunt Ethel" album with other pictures of Aunt Ethel, and it can also be in the "Grand Canyon"  album with pictures of other people at the Grand Canyon. And it can also be in a the "September 2015" album with other things that happened then. It takes no extra storage space to have a picture in several albums. As you can imagine, this is very powerful in organizing pictures.

And, you can put similar albums in folders so you don't have to scroll through hundreds of albums.

I'm glad you found the pictures!
