CarPlay microphone bug for Lexus

Hi everyone,

This is not a question, but rather a solution I found.

Posting it as a new thread because the threads that discuss this issue have all been closed, without a solution offered.

I had an issue where if I tried to call someone over CarPlay from my Lexus (2021 UX), they could barely hear me, only very very faintly.

Lexus dealer was not able to fix the issue.

The solution I found was to 1) buy a wireless CarPlay adapter, such as the Carlinkit Mini SE (this is the one I got). 2) Plug it in, connect to it through bluetooth on your iPhone, and bam, not only is the microphone issue solved, you now also have the convenience of wireless CarPlay.

Some data points to see if you are having the same issue as me, which may increase the likelihood of this fix working:

-Telephone calls (not FaceTime) work for lightning iPhones.

-Facetime calls do not work for lightning iPhones.

-Neither telephone nor FaceTime calls work for USB-C iPhones.
