pCloud and Dropbox issue with M4 chips (MacBook Air M4 & Mac mini M4)

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased both the MacBook Air with the M4 chip and the Mac mini with the M4 chip. I’ve been using earlier versions of both devices without any issues, but I’m facing serious problems with the new ones.

pCloud and Dropbox are not working at all—although I can see that both apps are running in the background, I’m unable to enable or use them properly. It seems to be an extension-related issue.

I’ve followed all the usual steps:

  • Reinstalled both apps
  • Granted the necessary permissions
  • Restarted the computers multiple times

But nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else faced this issue on M4 devices? Any solutions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I already have solved the Dropbox issue.

Now I need to get pCould running

I just cannot enable it for the Mac.

I think it's me who is not getting how to fix it.

it Says:

The system extension required for mounting pCloud volumes could not be loaded.

Please open the Privacy & Security System Settings and allow loading system software from developer "PCLOUD LTD". A restart might be required before the system extension can be loaded.

Then try mounting the volume again.

Dropbox working here on M4 Mac mini, "You don't have any sync issues", though I only make minimal use of the Basic version. I was just wondering if the update to version 229.4.5147, or the installation/reinstallation, had completed with this alert:

I have the same version on my M1 Macbook Air but don't remember ever seeing this alert. (In fact, the folder is replaced with an alias pointing to Users/username/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox.) Could it be that, for you and for some reason, the update/installation/reinstallation did not complete successfully?
