Troubleshooting Time Capsule A1470 with amber blinking status LED

The Time Capsule was discontinued more than 7 years ago, and could be as old as 12 depending on when it was originally placed into service.

Try a Factory Default Reset, which can be a bit tricky.

Power off the Time Capsule

Wait a few minutes

Hold in the reset button on the back of the Time Capsule first, and keep holding it in for another 15-20 seconds while you plug the Time Capsule back into power

Release the reset button after the hold period and give the Time Capsule a full minute to restart

Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <--> ports on your router to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule

Open AirPort Utility and click on Other Wi-Fi Devices

Click on Time Capsule

AirPort Utility will suggest a configuration for the Time Capsule. Follow the prompts.

If you try this a few times with no luck, the Time Capsule is not going to work.

Just to add a bit to Bob's comments ...

... The "5th generation" Time Capsule's latest firmware version is v7.9.1 and the base station requires v6.x of the AirPort Utility to manage it. v6 has been around since OS X Lion, and its latest version, v6.3.9, has not changed since it came out with macOS Mojave.

A "flashing or blinking" amber LED indicates that TC requires attention, something akin to the "check engine" warning light for automobiles. Apple provided the following support articles about this LED:

FYI ... AirPlay will NOT "see" the TC, as the TC is NOT an AirPlay device.
