MacBook Air won't play CDs with Bluetooth headsets

Been trying to get an issue fixed with my new Mac Air that Apple can't fix. Keep getting the run around and having to constantly repeat myself. Upgraded to 15.6 but issue is exactly the same as before.

The Music app will not play anything on a cd when bluetooth headsets are used. As soon as headset connects, it cuts off the cd playing and nothing I do to start playing from cd will work unless I use QuickTime to play songs on the cd.

If I turn off the bluetooth headset suddenly the Music app will play the songs from cd.

Was told to run diagnostics but Apple won't even start a session after several hours. This is the absolute worst product I've ever bought from Apple and no one can fix the problem

Troubleshooting Music App:

So, when did this begin? How long have you troubleshot it?

Boot in Safe Mode:

(Hold Down: the shift key upon boot). In Safe Mode, login items do not load at log in, certain System Preferences are set aside, and damages system files (caches) are fixed. So, try that, and see if this issue is fixed.

No success?

A. Reinstall the macOS:

Activity Monitor is part of the macOS. So, one option would be to reinstall the macOS to fix any bugs in this app. Nothing would be lost. It's just that misplaced items would be placed back to where they should be and corrupt system files would be replaced by clean files. Go Here: Reinstall macOS - Apple Support. Boot into Recovery Mode (Intel or Silicon).  Important: Prior to installing an update or performing a reinstallation, to prevent data loss, be sure to back up your Mac with Time Machine, that way, you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong afterwards.

B. Restore form a Backup:

Did you ever create a Time Machine Backup of this issue, prior to getting this issue? If so, restore from it. If not, then take this as a learning experience, knowing to always create a backup, prior to making any major change to if, from a software installation to a security update installation.

C. A Bug in the Update:

It might be a bug in a recent update. Apple might come out with a fix, but they'll only know of this if it is reported Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Report this to AppleApple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback Apple receives on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in upcoming updates. These are just user-to-user forums. Apple's developers will know nothing of this issue, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: when this all started, and how you have troubleshot it thus far. Include the URL to this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

You Need to Get your Mac Serviced...

So, who is this seller? Return it, if not Apple. If Apple, then contact Apple, et up a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store. There, it will be looked at and you'll be provided with your options. Apple give you a one-year, out-of-the-box, limited-warranty with the device (depending no your location). To see if this is covered, find the Serial Number, and enter it here: https://checkcoverage.apple.com/ If Apple cannot help you, see an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area.

A. Contact Apple Support:

And/Or...

B. Contact an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to replace the Mac's screen

Just discovered another issue with Music app. Where did my cursor go? Switch to finder window. cursor is back. switch to Music app, cursor disappears but I can see things being selected when I move the cursor around.

The 15.6 update addresses a lot of denial of service bugs. There's a lot more denial of service bugs in it still.

So I can play music from a cd only using QuickTime (one song at a time only) when I use bluetooth headphones.

I can play a dvd using the dvd player with bluetooth headphones.

But as soon as I play a cd in the music app and turn on bluetooth headphones, it stops playing anything on the cd and even pressing on the play button does nothing. As soon as bluetooth headphone is turned off, it works fine again. Even plugging in a headset to the headphone jack works fine. Tried 4 different bluetooth headsets and they all act the same way except one actually did continue to play until I clicked on something then it quit working too.

The other issue is that the track pad stops responding in the app launcher window when using two finger swiping to move to the next window. Single finger moving cursor works. 3 fingers works but not 2 fingers unless I click on something. I've noticed other apps also hang for about 10 seconds at time and in the application monitor sometimes finder stops responding. I can't use the online diagnostic cause it won't do anything. The computer diagnostic comes up with lots of software issues but no hardware issues.

I decided to pay for Apple support on this new computer and usually they can help me fix what's wrong but this has totally stumped them so I'm on here trying to get it fixed. After 2 months of wasting days and days of my time with Apple's support and getting nowhere, I can't deal with them anymore. It's been a waste of time and money dealing with them so perhaps someone on here knows what to do. Help would be appreciated.

What do you mean you decided to pay for Apple Support on your computer?

Where did you purchase it?

To me, it sounds like you paid for some kind of "Tech Support" that the retailer offered you and that is not Apple Support. For Apple Support, that is available here and there is no charge. Not sure if you are referring to AppleCare+, that is an extensions of your warranty, but Apple does not have a paid tech support plan with a computer purchase:

The other issue is that the new Mac Air locks up. You can test it by opening the app launcher window. After a while the two finger swipe used to slide to the next window will stop working but the single finger swipe to move the cursor will still work. For now I have to give up using the new Mac Air for Zoom because it locks up and have gone back to using the 2012 one which apple refuses to let me login and use icloud.
