iPhone texts don’t show “sent” or “delivered” and remain blank

When I’ve sent an iPhone text, it does not say “sent” or “delivered” at the bottom right. It stays blank continuously never updating. What could be the cause of this? Thank you in advance for your replies.

The possibilities include:

Their phone is off
Their phone does not have an internet connection, without WiFi or Cellular Data turned off
They have Do Not Disturb turned on
They have iMessage turned off.
You may not have an internet connection

If there is an issue on your device, you can:

Toggle iMessage off/on
Make sure Settings > Apps > Messages > Send as SMS is turned on. This will send as SMS if iMessage is not possible and the message will turn green.
Force Restart your phone - When you do the last step of holding the Side button until the Apple logo appears, it could take up to 15 seconds while holding the button and you must ignore anything else on the screen during that time. Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

The texts are blue, the receiver also has an iphone.
