Suddenly I am unable to move a mailbox to a new location on the sidebar. I have tried switching off, or holding Option Key - to no avail. help.
On mac mail on my M1 iMac, cannot move mailboxes to other sites on sidebar.

If you can't click and hold on a mailbox in the sidebar to drag the mailbox to a new location,
you might want to try:
✽ 1 Quit the Mail app .
...
✽ 2 Restart your iMac using Apple menu > Restart (deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update any recent setting changes etc., and often restores order if something is not working as expected.)
✽ 3 Log back in to your iMac: Open the Mail app, and try again

If still not working:
You might want to check.for MacOS updates in System Settings > General > Software Updates.
(If you choose to update: please remember it is wise to back-up your Mac first.)
I have the same issue and have tried all these suggestions, it just doesn't seem to 'pick up' the file, even when I try the copy option. It would be great if they added an 'edit mailboxes' option with a right click/other like editing safari favs etc.

If your MacOS is up-to-date with the newest compatible version for your Mac, and Apple's method is not working for you, you might want to send feedback, (and / or a feature request) to those who work behind-the-scenes at Apple. They will likely not reply, yet your feedback will be carefully read and logged, and if others are also experiencing the same issue, we may see an update that addresses it.
