Repeated 'Trust this Computer' prompts when logging into Apple services

every time I log into ASF or Apple in general, I get the "Trust this Computer" sequence with the confirmation numbers.

I have done it a million times, but there never is Trust.

Do I need to be using Safari for Trust to work?

My default browser is Firefox.
