Are there limits on Unidays related purchases at Apple?

My daughter will be going to uni in September so will be eligible for Unidays. I have tried searching in the Apple UK website if there are limits on how many devices can be purchased using the Unidays discount, e.g. 2 phones per year, 1 desktop per year, etc. ? I assume there are some limits applied per academic year, but can anyone provide clarity and specifics on this? Thank you.

Apple’s hardware promotions through the Education Store uses UNiDAYS for verification/eligibility. That is the only part that UNiDAYS brings. The discount is done by Apple. Students can be verified by UNiDAYS as soon as they have their enrollment finalized and have their personal edu institution email address (easier) or student ID (more cumbersome).

2 phones per year?

She can only buy products for herself through Apple’s Education Store. How many phones does one person use? Buying for others or premature reselling is prohibited.

The previously mentioned “Promotion Product” is about an extra saving this season for one of the devices in the shopping bag (i.e. one purchase event) on top of the already low edu pricing.

Thank you both for the links supplied and the explanation, much appreciated.

To clarify, I wasn’t envisioning buying two phones for her, nor buying one for her and the other to resell. I did visualise a scenario where she purchases a phone herself (as she is a student and therefore a Qualified Purchaser as per the link supplied by imobl), and a few months down the line a new phone is announced and released, and she decides she wants to get that one instead. Irrespective of the current promotion (in the UK i think it’s a free accessory depending on the item purchased), can she then purchase again (with the current phone perhaps transferred to me or her mother, or even traded in)? This is what i am trying to find out.

I know i can purchase a phone for her as i am also a Qualified Purchaser being the parent of said eligible child, but I am trying not to go that route.

  1. iPhone is not specially priced () in the Edu Store. Just Mac, iPad and selected accessories, and displays. iPhone is the same as the regular Store; same no limits.
  2. Buyers that have questions about the items or the buying process, can contact a Specialist for guidance. See the link in the upper right corner of the Edu Store page.
