If they weren't backed up, synced to the cloud, or stored elsewhere, you can't get them back. They are gone.

How one can "accidentally restore" a phone to factory settings is beyond me... That's not something you can do with a single click...

That's a real bummer.

I'd say you have been given an important lesson in the necessity of keeping regular backups.
