upload photos to an online photo album from photo library

I am having trouble uploading my pictures from my photo library onto an online photo album. I can't find them in finder. I used to use shutterfly and it was extremely easy to upload. Now Shutterfly changed their app and when I try with other similar products finder opens but I can't get to the photos in the photo app. Does anyone know where I would find them? The website I'm looking to use is myalbum. I do not want icloud. I am looking for a place that I can organize my photos by year and then month/event where my kids can then log in and look at the pics for now and years past. Thank you!

Right-- it's a mess. Three ways around that mess are:

  1. Export the pictures to Finder folders as I said earlier. This gives you the most control over what you send.
  2. Use the Search Fieldd with the Media Chooser in Safari and look for dates or something like that. That works if they are al the same date, or they all have a wheelbarrow in them, or whatever you can think that they have in common.
  3. In Photos, attach a keyword to the pictures you're interested in, and use the Search Field in Media Chooser with that keyword. You have to think ahead, but the keyword may be something that will help in the future.

If the pictures are very recent, then they appear at the top of the Media Chooser, so that's easy. Otherwise I use which ever method above gives me the best speed and control for that project.

You can use the Media Chooser in the Safari app as Yer_Man suggests, but another method would be to export the pictures from Photos to Finder folders using Photos' File>Export>Export nn Photos. You'll get a dialog like this:

that allows you to choose the size and quality of the images, as well as to use a sequential file name to keep them in order.

I'm not sure about Shutterfly, but many sites restrict the size of pictures, and the Export dialog allows you to pick an appropriate size that will transfer faster than full sized files that won't be seen full sized, anyway.

Once they're in Finder Folders, you can upload them in the usual way.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but if you're talking about messing around inside the Photos Library package, then that is a very bad idea, and do so can irreparably corrupt the Library. Please don't suggest this.
