To add to Mac Jim ID's excellent advice: Search engines make money by selling high hit placement so the paid-for-position ads—and they are ads— too often appear above a legit company support site. These high placement results may be identified as ads in some search engines but in very tiny print.
It extends beyond computer support. I needed the phone number for Kenmore appliances supoprt so I could ask about parts availability. On web searching, I found three listings for "Kenmore Support " that, from their web addresses, were clearly NOT Kenmore. They were all three ABOVE the legit Kenmore listing.
I just now searched for "Apple support phone number" and Apple got third-place position below two non-Apple sites.
Search engines are necessary but are not your friends, They are businesses that must produce income to maintain their services. They support themselves by selling adverts and ad positioning.
Knowledge is your best shield.
— If you need a tech company's phone number, go direct. Enter the business's web address; most are easy to guess. apple.com; microsoft.com; google.com; hp.com; etc.

to which I would add that Apple will never ask for payment in gift cards or cyber-currency.
