Opening photos stored on iCloud when connected to Mac

Hey guys,

When I connect my iPod touch (7th generation) to my Mac and open a picture from iCloud from my iPod, the Photos app opens on my Mac and shows my picture there.

Does this mean that the picture has been downloaded locally to my Mac's limited amount of storage?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.7

Wow, that's interesting! I need to try it on my iPod. I"m not sure if I still have pictures one it!

Why don't you copy the file name from the ⌘i Info Window? Then disconnect the iPad, and search for that file in Photos to see if it's there in the local Library?

It may be using the Library on the iPod instead of the computer's Library, but that seems unlikely to me. So, check if the picture is still there after disconnect.
