How to resolve disappearing voiceover results in Final Cut Pro?

Tried to record a voiceover in FCPX and I have tried every microphone I have and it shows that it is recording the sound but when I click end voiceover, the whole voiceover result disappears. I’ve played with the settings, tried different microphones, even creating a new event and project to try and it’s the same result. The voiceover disappears. Last time this happened I had to reboot the whole app and have it forget my preferences and it worked. This time after the reboot, it still didn’t work. Please help

I ended up fixing the issue thanks to chat. (Walked me through 20+ IT steps to trouble shoot) it was in fact the SSD card not being properly set up for Mac use. Chat had me move all my files over to my Mac and then erase my SSD and reformat it and then move files back. Final Cut still had the issue however because of corruption from previous use with my old SSD formatting so I had to create a new library and copy and paste my project into it and now it’s working. But I also had to reboot Final Cut and erase preferences as well. Annoying but hoping it won’t happen again now

Assuming this is the bug you're running into, you could try temporarily changing the storage location to where the library is (your System drive?). Once the VOs are done you could move them to the SSD, set the storage location back to the SSD, then relink to the VOs there.

Another option you could try which might be easier is just moving the library to the SSD.

Don't forget to quit FCP before moving libraries or the VOs.
