Should I remove Norton from my iMac?
My iMac is so slow and I wondered if removing Norton Security would help.
iMac 21.5″, macOS 14.4

Yes. There is no need to install third party apps that claim to protect, clean, manage, boost performance, etc. Such third party apps use system resources while providing no benefit.

You should remove "Norton Security" whether your Mac is slow or not. Rule 1 of Macs is don't install junk.
Follow its uninstallation instructions.
I concur with Bob. Remove Norton as it's not needed, even for security reasons.
If your iMac is running macOS Ventura or later, you likely don’t need Norton. macOS has built-in security like XProtect and Gatekeeper. Norton can slow down your system or cause conflicts. Unless you need specific features, it's safe to remove it.
If you want more help then message me i am always here to help you brother.
Yeah, your Mac is not in need of antivirus software and I like to call Norton a virus as it, because of the slowness it is causing to your Mac
