Can't go forward/backward in a song using CarPlay

I recently switched to a new vehicle with Apple CarPlay. To my disappointment, it seems that I have now lost the ability go forward and backward in a song/track or even worse: a longer mix, something I had no issues doing in my old vehicle which using the same device iPhone 15 Pro Max via Bluetooth audio. This happens with Apple Music and with Soundcloud, my 2 main sources for listening on the go. I see records of this issue dating back to 2022 but I see no resolution mentioned anywhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
