ITunes for Windows scramble artwork upon synch

I recently decided to try and run the latest version of iTunes for Windows. All looked good -and I corrected a couple of Genres on a few albums. Thought all looked good, so decided to Synch to my iPhone 16 (running IOS 18.5). Almost everything worked perfectly - all my changes. Then I noticed that 95% of the Album Artwork on my phone was now scrambled. I can see no pattern, looks completely random.

Is the artwork incorrect when you play a song, either on the phone or thru Carplay? I presume when you mean scrambled you mean that the incorrect artwork is applied to an album, not that the artwork is glitched out.

When I got my new phone last year (15 Pro), the album covers were a mess for so many albums, but if I played a song it was correct. Over the period of a few days, it straightened itself out on its own with no apparent intervention on my part.

The artwork on the phone is incorrect - when looking at albums, playing a song, appearing in playlists - always. It is perfect on the Windows iTunes side, but wrong on the iPhone. So for example the “Bob James and Dave Koz” album has Bruce Springsteen cover art, which show in the album and song views.

And I noticed another issue this morning: when I look at Recent Additions, all of my playlists are listed first (with incorrect artwork) then my recent purchases show up.

Artwork is truly messed up when the device was synched - and which is why my iPad will not be synched until there is some king of resolution.

Thanks I appreciate your effort to help!

My experience is that once the artwork cache on a device is scrambled no amount of repeat syncing will fix things. Take a look at my user tip If you have music that won't play on your device - Apple Community and try the approach suggested there to remove all content first, and then sync it back, or the backup, restore as a new device, restore backup, reload media method.
