"Apple Mobile Device Service" still missing

I've been having issues with iTunes not detecting my devices. After lots of restarts, redownloads and reinstalls and all around the houses, I stumbled upon this thread below and realised that was the problem for me too. I went through the steps in the solution, a box came up saying install was successful, then I restarted the PC because it wasn't in the list yet, but Apple Mobile Device Service is still not showing up. What do I do now?

If you install iTunes from the Microsoft Store then AMDS isn't supposed to be installed as a separate service. If you've used the traditional installer then you may need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes to get it registered properly. It may help to right-click the installer and use the Run as administrator option.
