2020 Mac Mini, M1, Sonoma 14.6.1, Thunderbolt display: Video camera stopped working,

On a Zoom call, showed up for meeting but video wouldn't start, despite restarts, Zoom logout, WiFi stop and start. Checked Photo Booth after Zoom, also not working. Surely there's some simple solution?

Apple sold the Thunderbolt Display between July 2011 and June 2016 – implying that your display is roughly 9 to 14 years old. It's possible that the hardware is simply starting to fail after all of this time. I don't think Apple still carries repair parts or provides repair service for those displays, so if it is "giving up the ghost", you might be looking at the need to get a separate USB webcam.

The other possibility is that some change in Sonoma 14.6.1 caused this. But if that was the case, I'd expect there to be more posts by other users reporting the same issue.
