I cannot block payments when family sharing is enabled

In my house we have a few shared ipads, and two phones. I enabled family sharing so that we could share apple music, that worked ok. Then I noticed that one of the kids started making purchased on the Ipad.

I've looked through for options to stop these payments. I've tried removing the credit card but it won't let the family sharing organiser remove the credit card, then i looked through the ipads and cannot find how to make it require a password for purchases (I used to use this before adding family sharing)

I looked on family sharing for require approval for purchase, but could not find that.

Can I get some advice on how to stop these purchases from occurring on the ipads, If I cannot find how to I'll need to remove the family sharing.

Apple's mobile devices are not designed to be shared. You can set up Ask To Buy but the child has to be using their account.

Perhaps more what you want:

On your device you can use Screen Time to prevent unintentional or unauthorized purchases from the App Store, in-app, and other Apple services. —> Use Screen Time to turn off in-app purchases on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
