SSL error on iPad (G6) after update to 17.7.8

Hi, we are using an iPad (6th generation. Since the update to iPadOS 17.7.8 we get SSL errors in Safari with the message "This connection is not private". Looking at the details of the certificate it shows a validity up to December 2025 but it also shows that this certificate is not trusted (several websites incl. Google).

The time on the iPad is set to automatic (and is also correct), we tried another connection (Hotspot via iPhone), there is no VPN and we tried another browser.

Hopefully somebody has an idea or there will be an update (of the update) in case this is a general topic.

I updated yesterday to 17.7.8 and everything that requires an internet connection is completely unusable due to these certificate rejections. My iPad is now basically useless. I have tried multiple proposed fixes from downloading a root certificate to resetting all of my network and iPad settings.
