Library reached 100,000 but includes duplicate items. Where is ‘find duplicate items’ in Music app for Windows pc

In the Songs view turn on the Cloud Status column and sort on it. Any duplicates identified as such are already excluded from your cloud music library, so this isn't likely to help much.
You can revert to iTunes if you uninstall whichever of Apple Music/Devices/TV you have installed.

Didn’t know I could revert to iTunes, thanks, might try that. Hoping song limit is eventually increased. I was told by Apple support that if a song appears on an album in your library and you add it to a playlist it’s stored on the cloud library twice, taking up 2 places in your capacity

That's not how any of this works.
Playlists are ordered lists of references to items in your own iCloud Music Library, or in some cases to items in the Apple Music Catalog if you haven't enabled the option to "Add songs to library when adding to playlists" or some equivalent. The same song can appear in multiple playlists without affecting the overall count of unique songs in the library.

Apple Music for Windows is a cut down version of some of the features of iTunes. It is a significantly less powerful music manager. I don't know why anyone puts up with it. I can only assume it is because they don't think they have a choice.

“That's not how any of this works.” Pity Apple support are telling people it it is if it isn’t. I barely use Apple Music on windows as it seems pretty unstable and buggy, just thought I might easier reduce my library on there. I access on iOS mainly but getting frustrated at not being able to add anything to library, might be better if they had a ‘listen later’ type feature to shelve tracks/albums before deciding to add to library or not. Might have to tap out of Apple Music if I can’t resolve
In case I wasn't clear I'm suggesting you revert to iTunes rather than use Apple Music for Windows. Apple Music doesn't even have a status bar that can show the count of songs in your library, which is a pretty useful metric if you're trying to trim the fat to get back under the 100,000 track limit.
