Is there an alternative to "wrap timeline"?

So I'm using iMovie to make a 10-minute music video. I have a huge assortment of clips that I'm using for the video, and I currently have them all laid out horizontally on the timeline. It's not easy trying to remember all the clips and then scrolling back and forth to find them and then move them.

So I went online to see if there's a better way to visualise the clips. I found a feature called "wrap timeline" that apparently does this. It lays out all the clips so you can more quickly see and select them. But I found that this feature was discontinued.

Is there an alternative?

Hi,

The timeline wrap feature of iMovie 9 was removed in iMovie 10, as you have found. iMovie 10 has a horizontal linear timeline, that allows for stacking audio clips below the timeline, and titles and overlaying of clips in the auxiliary timeline above the main one.

Instead of loading all clips into the main timeline, you can drag clips from the project media pane into the auxiliary timeline and from there pull them down into the main timeline as needed. Or pull them directly from the project media pane into the main timeline.

Another way is to organize your clips in separate events, and then pull them from there into the iMovie project.
