Can I connect a hearing aid and AirPod at the same time?

Hoping this reaches someone at the top of apple or something because I am in dire need of something to change. I recently got a hearing aid in one ear, my other one was fine. My hearing aid can be connected to my phone and essentially used as an airpod. My issue is that I cannot connect both my hearing aid and my airpod to my phone at the same time. I really dont want to have to take my hearing aid all the way out and then put it all the way back in just to listen to music. On top of that, it's kinda hard to hear with just my one ear in many cases, like at work. If I have both airpods in and no hearing aid, for example, I can't hear what a coworker asks me that well if they're on my bad ear side.

Is there any way for someone to connect one airpod and one hearing aid that I'm just missing? Is there something in accessibilities that can help with this? Any guidance or any way that this can be completed would be greatly appreciated.
