Apple Mail blocking window and deletion issue on MacBook Pro

The blocking window says "The IMAP command “APPEND” (to INBOX.Drafts) failed with server error: Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full) (0.003 + 0.000 + 0.002 secs).." Neither of these problems - 1) can't delete messages or 2) blocking window - happen on my iPhone or when using mail on my MacBook Pro other than Apple Mail. No problems when using Yahoo mail account.

Original Title: Can't delate unwanted email on my MacBook Pro (15.5). In addition when writing an email, a blocking window pops up and stops me from writing until I press return.

I find it hard to believe that this blocking window is only appearing on my MacBook Pro, and that no one else is having trouble deleting email from Apple Mail inbox. If I'm having trouble that no one else is having, should I erase and factory reset my MacBook Pro? I've done a Time Machine backup, but I'm still worried that I'll lose important files.
