a diagnostic test prior to a Genius Bar meeting?

I’m being managed on my iPhone, my tablet, my laptop and I called Apple Support for this ongoing issue. Spoke tonight very nice lady for about an hour and she set me up with an appointment at the Genius Bar. When I hung up the phone with her I received a text from the phone number 738245 to run a diagnostic on my phone prior to my meeting at the Genius Bar. I didn’t think twice about it and I ran the diagnostic. My question is was that a dumb move on my part? Have any of you ever been presented with the diagnostic over the phone? Please response and thank you!

Do you have a email confirmation from Apple.com for that appointment showing the store location?

I'm pretty sure her setting you up with a Genius appointment indicates you were in contact with Apple and not one of the many "support posers" who infest search engines. The scammers would not do that.

To me it makes sense that the appointment process could trigger a request for some preemptive testing to reduce the in-person time required at the store.

Still, you are wise to ask here.
