Extra monitor not holding docs when it goes to sleep.

My macbookpro m1 max is attached to my Asus monitor. Lately when MacBook pro sleeps, all the windows open migrate back to my macbook pro and stay there. Any settings I need to change to have my docs stay on my Asus?

What you are likely seeing is that when the Mac wakes from sleep, it re-derives what display(s) are still present and working.

Any display that does not immediately respond to the Mac's query for display-name and capabilities, is assumed not working. Any windows on a not-working display are moved to the closest edge of a working display to avoid having them get 'lost' and inaccessible.

if that display is on a Dock, consider ways to make it come up sooner using a direct connection.
