Trying to create apple account - successful up until the final step

After all this time my spouse has decided to have his own apple account instead of leeching off mine. He's visually impaired but not fully blind so I'm trying to walk him through the setup.


Got through the phone verification step successfully. Trying to verify the email address, got the code, enter it into the screen and click 'finish' and got this pop-up: "For assistance, contact iTunes Support at www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/ ". On that page there is no support category for setting up a new account, so I am at a dead end.


Has the account been created or not? I waited a while and tried to sign in, but it says account or password is incorrect.

I realize this, however somebody may have had a similar situation and received a solution that I could try. The sharing of knowledge and personal experiences is the whole point of this community discussion forum.


There is still no support category for creating a new account at the link you gave, however I see there is an option to chat with a support person at the bottom of the page. Thank you for that. Hopefully they will be able to help me.
