My stolen iPhone 15 Pro Max showing “will be removed after 30 days” in Find My

Yesterday my iphone 15 pro max has been stolen from my pocket at 19/07/2025 near about 3:30 pm, after that i checked find my devices app and saw that the device is turned off in a specified location. After reaching at home i entered my apple id via icloud and saw the location of my stolen device is changed to another place and showing the device will be removed after exact 30 days. My device was protected with a password and there is no option to access to my phone but how its showing that ?

Did you fall for a "phishing" message, claiming to be from "Apple" or the "Polce" or something like that, that took you to a place that asked for your Apple ID and Apple ID password?

That would not have been from Apple or the police – but from the criminals, to trick you into giving the information they needed to clear Activation Lock. The message that you saw is consistent with someone who knew your Apple ID and Apple ID password having removed your phone from the list of your devices, on the Web.

That would have

  • Immediately removed Activation Lock, letting the criminals reset your phone and "make your phone their own"
  • Resulted in the message that you saw
  • Put your phone into a "Twilight Zone" state where you can track it for up to 30 days (or until the criminals take advantage of the removal of Activation Lock), but cannot turn Activation Lock back on, or cancel the (delayed) removal of the phone from Find My.

If the thieves leave the phone unmolested for 30 days, and then let it connect to the Internet again, that might turn Activation Lock back on automatically. But I wouldn't count on the thieves being kind enough to do that.

That phone is gone.

well if they charge it so it comes to life it can provide a location until they turn it off once more

and then after 30days without it giving a new location it will remove the location as it would be unlikely it's still there

this will continue everytime they charge it, unless you make sure the sim is cancelled and they do not charge it up close to a free public wifi where no encryption password is required.

allso not for you but if given the IMEI the local law enforcements of your country can get a court warrant which would force local carriers in your country to triangular track the IMEI if the phone was present on their networks

a of cause very costly odeal it's mostly used in cases of missing persons, never heard about it being used for theft, and also not confident that it's a thing in all countries around the globe
